Mabri is 9 months!

Wow! Mabri turned 9 months old on April 5th! I can't believe how time flies! It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital. Now she is this little person with a personality! We will go for her 9 month check up on Monday and I will share stats and pictures! There were times those first few weeks that I thought I couldn't handle it! I kept wondering when it would get easier. I feel so silly now. My baby is a beautiful growing girl! She is crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything! She is even trying to stand on her own. She is also finally starting to pick up some of the signs that I have been teaching her. It is amazing how fast they pick up on things. She is also very talkative. I know, I know. No one is surprised. She is my daughter!

A funny thing happened earlier in the week. I went to pick Mabri up at daycare and Mary (our wonderful childcare provider) informed me that my sweet baby girl had her first kiss! Hannah has dubbed her "the boy kisser". Apparently she was kissed first by one of the little boys and she grabbed his face and kissed him back. You know the kiss. The open mouth baby kiss. I couldn't wait to get home and tell Dad! He gave her a good talking to. Let's see if it works!

Spring Break Trip to San Antonio

So, we have been promising to take Hannah back to San Antonio.  We are priceline fanatics and the last two times we were in San Antonio we were able to stay at the Emily Morgan Hotel for $60. It is close to the Alamo and the Riverwalk.  There are always those horse drawn carriages parked across the street from the hotel. Hannah has said both times that it is her "dream come true" to ride in one. Since our previous stops have been on the way to other places, we haven't really "done" San Antonio. I had planned to to take off on Friday just to spend the day with the girls since it was Hannah's last day off. Well, Dad surprised us and said that we were going to San Antonio for two nights! He decieded this Thursday night! My husband is a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy. So, as I frantically tried to do laundry and pack, he started his bidding war with priceline! Three hours later we had a room. The Grand Hyatt on the Riverwalk for $100 a night. He was pretty pumped since these rooms are normally $260 a night. We did not get a restful nights sleep becasue Mabri was up crying most of the night. I chalked it up to teething becasue she was drooling like crazy. She was also a little congested. We made it out of the house by 10AM. A new record for us, especially since it was a two night trip. Hannah was so excited because our hotel had a heated pool and the weather was forcasted to be in the 80's on Saturday. We stopped off in San Marcos at the outlet malls and picked up a new swimsuit for Hannah and a new pair of shoes for Dad. We made it to San Antonio by 3PM. Mabri did fairly well since she normally screeches in her car seat. We are hoping she is outgrowing this! We really "did" San Antonio. We did the Riverwalk, San Antonio Children's Museum, Buckhorn Saloon and Museum, The Alamo, The Tower of Americas, and the Market. We also made Hannah's "dream come true" and took a carriage ride! She aslo got to swim a little and made her newest "dream come true" by going to the Selena bridge on the Riverwalk. She recently watched the Selena movie and is quite obsessed with her. We ate great food at Casa Rio on the Riverwalk and the Blanco Cafe on St. Mary's. We ate at the Little Red Barn on Saturday where all the hostesses and waitresses wear cowboy hats and cowgirl garb. The service was fast, the food was good and the dessert was even better.  We ate gorditas at the Market from a food stand and they were mighty tasty! We came home with a bag of rocks that Hannah "mined" at the children's museum, a collection of smashed pennies from almost every stop we made, lots of memories and unfortunately a sick baby. Mabri is now getting over a cold and ear infections. We had a great time and can't wait until our next spur of the moment trip! I will post pictures soon! I don't have many since I was a loser and forgot my camera on Saturday!

8 Months!

Well, my Mabri Ray is 8 months old now! It seems like yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital. I'm not going to lie, it was hard this time around! It is so worth it though! Now she is crawling around like crazy, pulling up and standing, and trying to say "mama". She is such a smiley girl. Even when she wakes up at 6:30 am (like she did this morning), she has a smile on her face. She is so enthralled with Hannah. She loves to watch her dance and jump around and most of the time it looks like she wants to join in. Hannah is such a great big sister. She loves to "babysit" her. This means she takes her in her room and brings her out a short timel ater with a hula skirt, a doll skirt as a top and a bow in her hair. Mabri just smiles and goes along with it. It's like she has a real live doll to play dress up with! I will have to snap a picture next time! They make my heart smile!

Getting Started

So, I am going to try my hand at this blogging thing. I guess I should start out by introducing myself and my family. My name is Bridgett and I am married to a wonderful man! Steven and I have been married since September of 2008. The Lord brought him into my life during a time when I didn't think I could ever love again. He showed me what it really means to be loved. He never misses a chance to tell me that he loves me or how beautiful I am. We have two beautiful girls. Hannah is almost 8 years old. She is sweet and sassy all at the same time. She already has a wonderful unerstaniding of God's unconditional love. She makes me smile every day! Mabri, our little monkey, is just shy of 8 months old. She is such a smiley baby girl. She is truly a testament to what our love made. I am just a working mom who loves God, my family and my friends. I am trying to keep it together and with His help I know I will!
